The overall direction and governance of the Transport Technology Forum is the responsibility of the three senior industry leaders.

Chair: Daniel Ruiz

Chief Executive Meridian

Dr Daniel Ruiz is the Chair of the Transport Technology Forum. He is currently the Chief Executive of Meridian Mobility UK, a mobility technology cluster designed to accelerate the development of connected and autonomous vehicles. Prior to taking up his current role, Daniel was Managing Director of Dynniq UK, a leading provider of products and services that address the challenges facing our transport networks by using Intelligent Traffic Systems. Daniel graduated from Cambridge University with a BA, Engineering, and Oxford University with a DPhil, Engineering.

Director: Tom Macmorran

Managing Director, Siemens UK

Tom Macmorran has worked for Siemens for over 20 years and is currently Managing Director of Siemens Mobility – Traffic Solutions, which provides a wide range of products and services, from traffic control, congestion charging and low emission zone solutions to managed services, hosting, e-ticketing and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Prior to joining Siemens, Tom held senior management positions with Pearpoint. Tom has a BSc (Hons) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Director: Darren Capes

Transport Systems Manager, City of York Council

Darren Capes is Transport Systems Manager for York City Council responsible for the management, procurement and operation of transport technology systems. He is Fellow of the IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology) and a Fellow of the IHE (Institute of Highway Engineers). Additionally, Darren is member of the European Energy Research Alliance Smart Cities Joint Programme Cities Advisory Board, and a member of the IET’s Transport Policy Panel.
